What a great place to walk. Sighting a Peregrin Falcon and seeing tons of hummingbirds sounds like heaven to me!

Yes, it is heaven, and a good walk, too! I was mostly in shock when I saw the falcon, and it seemed to notice me and take its time. What a great idea to write a poem about the group nouns for hummingbirds!

Sadly, I have an irrational fear of hummingbirds that stems from frequent “near-death” experiences on my mother’s back deck in Indiana. They are amazing, beautiful creatures, and if I ever get up the nerve to get a tattoo, it will be a hummingbird and the quote, “Though she be but little, she is fierce.” Great post!

Sandy, I feel like this is a story I have never heard. What was your "near-death" experience, and why in the world would you have that be your tattoo? Inquiring minds want to know!

That sounds like a great place! Hummingbirds are my favorite...I can’t imagine ever seeing that many in one place, that may have to go on my to-do list! Very exciting! I am an inquiring mind who too wants to know the “real” story of Sandy’s near death experience!
